The Power of Vitamin C
There are a number of reasons why you should be interested in Vitamin C and
they include the following:
·
Humans one of a few mammals that do not produce Vitamin C. The only other mammals are the bul bub (fruit bat),
Guinea pigs and high level primates.
·
Vitamin C is required by 300 functions within your body
·
Vitamin C has been proven to reduce many of symptoms associated with Heart Disease eg. Blood pressure,
Cholesterol
·
Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA) has been questioned as the documented RDA for Vitamin C is 60MG. A study
conducted by PHD scientists as called for these recommendations to be withdrawn due to their inaccuracy. Please
see Graph below.
·
All these
factors decrease Vitamin C – Stress, Coffee, Refined Sugar, Smoking (26mg per cigarette), Alcohol, Exercise,
Sports
Recommended Daily Allowance
Comparison

What does the Graph
show?
The graph high-lights the significant difference between what other
mammals produce in terms of Vitamin C, Typically stressed (High Production) and Non stressed (Low
Production).
The intepretation of the values would lead to the conclusion that
Human production would be significantly higher if Humans could produce Vitamin C. However, Humans can not
produce Vitamin C only by consuming Vitamin C can higher levels of Vitamin C be achieved and based on the
Graph even taking the lower average amount would show around 1800 mg per day.

Values of Vitamin C in Organs

What does the Graph Show
Organs of the body are required to
maintain a level of Vitamin C of a combined total of over 1000 Mg. This excludes other bodily functions
(e.g Tissue repair) that rely on Vitamin C .
The conclusion is that higher levels of
Vitamin C must be ingested to maintain the required level of Vitamin C in the body on a
daily basis. As the body can only use and not store Vitamin C extra unused Vitamin C is
flushed out of the system.
